The following products can be used with webElect.net to enhance efficiency.

• Barcode Scanners - are a useful tool for entering voter data into groups as explained on the page "How to ...enter the voter data collected after canvassing a precinct?" Although the data entry can be done manually, the barcodes and a scanner will turn a tedious 1 hour job into a 5 minute job for a minimal cost. Barcode scanners may not scan barcodes printed on ink jet printers. We recommend using laset jet printers for printing reports with bar codes or testing your ink jet printed barcodes before printing large reports.

The Symbol scanner uses a crisp laser scanner to read the barcodes and can scan quickly and precisely from several inches away. The budget scanners below use CCD scanners which must be placed directly on top of the barcode and are slightly more difficult to scan.
Note: Our newest walklist report uses compressed barcodes (per voter) to conserve paper. Budget scanners will not work well for scanning these reports. Budget scanners only work on reports that print one barcode per house.

• Blackberry - Handheld wireless devices allow you to access the webElect.net internet site from the field. While campaigning, canvasing, or traveling, you can have access to all your campaign data and can also make entries to update campaign information in your webElect data repository.
